The 9/11 Heroes Run – 5K is back again for the 8th year and will be held in front of the Charleston Fire & Police Department located at 235 Seven Farms Drive, as well as the surrounding areas, including Simmons Park. The event will take place on Sunday, November 17th – Opening Ceremonies @ 1:30 PM and Race at 2 PM. During the event, traffic will be temporarily impacted. Please see below for specific information regarding street closures, etc.
Seven Farms Drive between the intersections of River Landing Dr. and Pier View St. will be closed from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Other streets involved with our race route will be closed at approximately 2:00 PM and reopened as soon as the last participant clears that part of the course, not to last longer than 3:00 PM. These streets include Seven Farms Dr. between the intersections of River Landing and Daniel Island Drive, portions of Daniel Island Dr. (from main intersection to Purcell Ln) and River Landing Drive.
RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES ON THE ABOVE – MENTIONED STREETS ARE KINDLY ASKED TO USE YOUR REAR PARKING ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH FROM 8 AM UNTIL 4 PM, FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR PARTICIPANTS! ANY CARS PARKED BETWEEN PIER VIEW STREET AND RIVER LANDING DRIVE ON SUNDAY, NOV 17TH BETWEEN 8 AM AND 4 PM ARE SUBJECT TO BEING TOWED AT THE OWNER’S EXPENSE!
