Construction on Daniel Island

October 17, 2022

It is apparent that many Daniel Island homeowners take great pride in keeping the community standard up by performing general maintenance and upgrades to their homes. However, constant construction work at a property can become a nuisance to neighbors. This is why the Daniel Island Architectural Review Board (ARB) has set construction guidelines for hired contractors that indicate when work can be done.

Per the ARB construction guidelines:

The construction activities will be allowed Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm and 7:00 am until 7:00 pm during daylight saving time. Construction traffic is permitted on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. All construction-related activities are prohibited on Sundays* and major holidays. *After Hours and Sunday work permits may be requested for an additional fee for inside quiet work only.

Homeowners themselves are still able to conduct work outside of these hours as long as they are abiding by the City of Charleston noise ordinance which prohibits loud and unnecessary noises after 7 PM and before 7 AM.

Should residents have noise complaints before 7 AM or after 7 PM, please email the POA office via the info@dicommunity.org email address and include the address of the home where the CC&R violation is occurring so that the ARB team can contact the Owners/Contractors during regular business hours.
