School’s out for the summer, which means it is officially summer break! While we may notice a slight drop in morning traffic during the summer months, there will be an increase in activity throughout the day, with more children and families out and about enjoying the island.
As the school year winds down and summer begins, we’d like to remind all residents, whether you’re walking, biking, or driving, to stay alert and use extra caution during your daily commute, regardless of the time of day. With more kids and community members outdoors, we all must do our part to keep everyone safe.
Parents, please take a moment to talk with your children about staying aware of their surroundings and following the rules of the road. Remind them to always yield before crossing streets or trails, and to be mindful when navigating through the neighborhood.
