Daniel Island Youth Highlight

January 27, 2021

Our names are Caitlin Keffer and McKenna Young and we are Juniors at Bishop England High School. We were nominated for the 2021 Lowcountry Student of the Year Campaign through the Lowcountry Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are so excited to give back to our community and raise as much money as possible for LLS and their mission. A few months ago, we had the opportunity to meet with a 10-year-old boy, Brady, over Zoom. He was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Valentine’s Day in 2019. Since then, he’s endured countless rounds of chemotherapy and is looking forward to ringing the bell, signaling the end of his cancer treatments in April 2021, after two and a half years of grueling treatments. Our team has set a goal to raise $15,000 in 7 weeks! Our campaign began on January 16th and we need your help! We are so excited to be able to help patients like Brady and to see what we can accomplish with this campaign!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. LLS is the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since 1949, LLS has invested nearly $1.3 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches.
