Daniel Island’s Park Day festival, originally created 16 years ago as a charitable event to support Charleston area nonprofits, has grown each year to become one of our community’s largest and most complex annual events. The festival requires tremendous staff time year-round and increased funding each year. After much contemplation and discussion, the Daniel Island POA has decided that it is no longer feasible to manage this event.
This decision was based on many factors, including our desire to continue to provide smaller, more cost-effective events for property owners that enhance the quality of life in our neighborhoods. We will continue to host several of our larger events – including the Concert in the Park, the Independence Day (July 3rd) celebration, and the Holiday Festival.
Since its inception, Park Day has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities. We would like to thank the countless residents and businesses that have supported this event and the wonderful nonprofits that benefited from it over the years.
