This is a friendly reminder for our new and existing residents that the CC&Rs (Daniel Island’s governing documents) applicable to your property require that you receive approval from the Daniel Island Architectural Review Board (ARB) prior to making any modifications to the exterior of your home, unit, or property. Please note, that unauthorized modifications to the property without approval from the ARB may result in fines and/or mitigation.
Below are examples of modifications that require approval from the ARB prior to the start of the project:
- Exterior paint color, siding material, and roofing changes.
- Window and door changes.
- Adding hurricane protection.
- Adding solar panels.
- Adding a porch, sunroom, deck, shed, ADU, FROG, generator and HVAC equipment, etc..
- Tree removals.
- Modifying hardscape, grading or drainage, and landscaping.
- Adding outdoor kitchens, pools, or spas.
- Fence or wall replacements or changes.
- Docks and bulkheads.
- Exterior signage (DITA only)
If you are considering making changes to the exterior of your home, unit, or property please contact the ARB staff before getting started with the design process so that we may provide you with any rules or regulations applicable to your property.
