Have you heard that the Daniel Island POA has four Little Free Libraries on the island?
What are Little Free Libraries?
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Library book-exchange boxes.
They do this by selling Little Free Library book-sharing boxes for individuals, or in our case, communities, to display for public use. The Little Free Library book-sharing boxes are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and are freely accessible to all, removing barriers to book access.
Their motto, Take a Book. Share a Book.
***If the little library is full, please do not leave books on the ground or in boxes. Please take overflow books to the Daniel Island Library or donate them to a nonprofit organization such as Goodwill.
Where are they located on Daniel Island?
The Daniel Island POA has four Little Free Libraries. One is located just outside of the Scott Park Pool, two are in Smythe Park near the corner of Daniel Island Drive and Purcell, and the fourth is located outside of the Crow’s Nest (please see map below).
