Our POA parks are wonderful community spaces available for residents to enjoy on a first-come, first-served basis for small gatherings. Whether you’re planning a picnic, a birthday celebration, or a casual get-together with friends and family, here are a few important guidelines to keep in mind to ensure everyone has a great experience.
General Use Guidelines
- Respect Shared Spaces – Our parks are for everyone! Please be mindful of other residents who may also want to use the space. Sharing and cooperation make our community stronger.
- Leave No Trace – If you bring it in, take it out. Please dispose of all trash properly and leave the area as clean as you found it.
- Prohibited Activities – To maintain the safety and enjoyment of the park for all residents, the following are not allowed:
- Bounce houses and inflatables
- Food trucks
- Farm animals or petting zoos
- Alcohol
- Amplified music or sounds
- Decor cannot be stapled, nailed, etc., to structures, furniture, or trees
Events That Require POA Approval
While most small gatherings are welcome without prior approval, some larger or more specialized events do require POA permission. These include, but are not limited to:
- Weddings
- Fitness classes or organized training sessions
- Musical and school performances
- Other activities that may impact shared use of the park
If you are planning an event that falls under these categories, please contact the POA office in advance to request approval and ensure compliance with community policies.
Enjoy the Park Responsibly
Our parks are a valuable community resource, and it’s up to all of us to care for them. By following these simple guidelines, we can ensure they remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for all residents. Thank you for doing your part, and we hope you have a wonderful time in our community spaces.
*Please note that the City of Charleston also owns some parks on Daniel Island. The above only pertains to Daniel Island POA parks. If you need clarification on whether a park belongs to the POA or the City, please contact us at 843.971.9200
