A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY OF CHARLESTON

September 21, 2017

Daniel Island Waterfront Trail and Floating Dock:
Due to damage from Hurricane Irma, the Daniel Island Waterfront Trail footbridges and floating dock will be closed for design, permitting and repair until further notice. A consultant hired to inspect the area and assess the damage has recommended the temporary closure citing structural concerns.

Signs have been posted to inform visitors of the closures, and barricades have been placed at each closed location.

Until these repairs are complete, the Daniel Island Waterfront Trail system should be considered an out and back trail.
Trash and Yard Debris Pick Up:
As part of the City of Charleston’s ongoing Hurricane Irma recovery efforts, trash and construction and demolition waste collection is taking place on a modified collection schedule. Crews anticipate returning to their normal collection schedule by Monday, September 25.

If you have any questions on the modified collection schedule, please contact  Jack O’Toole, Director of Communications, Media Relations/Public Information at (843) 724-3746 or otoolej@charleston-sc.gov
