Flying Fish Swim Team Schedule

The Flying Fish Swim Team season is about to begin! Below is some useful information for both swim team families and non-swim team families.

Swimmer Evaluation/Preseason Info:

For those swimmers who registered for the team, swimmer evaluation will take place Monday, April 22nd, Tuesday, April 23rd, and Wednesday, April 24th from 3:30-5 PM at the Pierce Park Pool. The Swim Team Parent Board will contact you regarding your scheduled times and other information you will need to know about that.

On Saturday, April 27th, the Swim Team will host their final swimmer evaluation and their annual breakfast at the Pavilion! All of the swimmer evals will take place at the Pierce Park Pool utilizing 2 swimming lanes. The remainder of the pool will be open for residents to use.

Practice Times:

The team will begin practice on Wednesday, May 1st. Practices will take place at the Pierce Park Pool Monday – Friday from 4 PM – 7:15 PM and Saturdays from 7:15 AM – 10:30 AM. During all practices, the Pierce Park Pool is closed and will reopen once practice has ended. Practices then switch to the mornings only from 7 AM – 10:45 AM beginning on June 1st.

Home Swim Meets:

Additionally, during the 2024 season, the Flying Fish Swim Team will host a few home meets. The meets will take place at both the Pierce Park Pool and Pavilion. Both the Pierce Park Pool and Pavilion will be closed during the meets and will reopen for normal directly after the meet if it ends before 10 PM, or at 5 AM the day after the meet if the meet ends at 10 PM.

See below for the 2024 Meet dates and times:

  • Thursday, May 23rd from 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Tuesday, June 4th from 4 PM – 10 PM
  • Tuesday, June 18th from 4 PM – 10 PM
  • Tuesday, June 25th from 4 PM – 10 PM
  • Saturday, June 29th from 7 AM – 12:30 PM

Please know that this schedule can change at any time based on weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

We invite all residents to come out and help cheer on your Daniel Island Flying Fish Swim Team as they compete in their meets this summer. Residents are encouraged to please use the Scott Park and Edgefield Park Pools during practice and meets.
