Some great news for one of our heavily utilized and enjoyed walking routes. The Daniel Island Town Association, with funding from the Daniel Island Community Fund, is investing in revitalizing and improving the boardwalk along River Landing Drive between Fairchild Drive and Seven Farms Drive.
This boardwalk sees a lot of foot traffic, bikes, strollers, and dog walks every day, and years of heavy use and our coastal weather have taken their toll. The work will put it back in excellent condition so residents can keep enjoying it for many years to come.
To complete the work safely, the trail and boardwalk in this section will close on Monday, October 5, for about six weeks. That timeline depends on the weather, and we’ll share an update if anything changes.
For your safety and the safety of the crews, please stay behind the posted barriers and don’t walk around them while the trail is closed. Active construction zones can hide hazards that aren’t obvious from the path.
We know a closure is an inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience. When the boardwalk reopens, it will be stronger, safer, and ready for the next generation of morning walks and evening strolls.
