The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina is profound and heartbreaking. There are numerous appeals for hurricane relief funds. However, we encourage you to consider donating through the Daniel Island Community Foundation, a tax-deductible 501(c)(3) organization as the Daniel Island Community Fund is generously matching up to $10,000 of total donations from residents and friends, amplifying the impact of your contribution.
Contributions to the Daniel Island Community Foundation will be evenly distributed among three verified charities: the American Red Cross, Water Missions International, and the Salvation Army.
To donate, you can drop off a check at the Daniel Island POA Office, located at 130 River Landing Drive, Suite 1-C. Please make checks payable to the Daniel Island Community Foundation and note “Helene Relief” in the memo. Donations will be accepted at the POA office during regular hours, Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM, until the end of the day on November 1st. Should you wish to drop off a donation outside of office hours, there is a mail slot in the front door of the office.
The Daniel Island Community Foundation is dedicated to promoting social welfare, alleviating government burdens, and providing affordable housing for those in need.
