It should be no great surprise that the DI Community Speaker’s Series with Jenny Thompson has been canceled.

The organizers are working with both the Daniel Island Club and Jenny to come up with an alternative date. They will let the community know as soon as that decision has been made.

Sorry to have to cancel, but the weather wins every time.

The Daniel Island Speaker Series is excited to host another highly anticipated event on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the ballroom at the Daniel Island Club. Their featured guest will be Dr. Jenny Thompson, the longtime most decorated US female Olympian with 12 medals in swimming, 8 of them gold! Incredibly, all of this was before she completely pivoted her career into becoming an anesthesiologist and is now practicing at the VA Medical Center right here in Charleston!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the Olympics? What is it like to be in the quest and glory of setting world records? Or to completely reinvent yourself and your career? Do you have children with big aspirations? Have them come too and be truly inspired by such a local American icon. Bring your most burning questions as this event will be quite interactive with an open Q&A session.
