Relief For Victims of the Catastrophic Tornadoes

December 13, 2021

The devastation and needs resulting from the catastrophic tornadoes in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee are evident and heartbreaking. There are many good appeals to raise funds for relief. One option we invite you to consider is a donation to the American Red Cross via the Daniel Island Community Foundation, a tax-deductible 501C3 organization. The Daniel Island Community Fund will match up to $10,000 of donations made by residents and friends, which doubles the impact of a donation. Donations will be accepted online HERE or via check at the POA office now through January 31st, 2022.

Donations made to the DI Community Foundation will be provided to the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross and their partners are working around the clock across multiple states to help those in need and make sure everyone has a safe place to stay, food to eat, critical relief supplies, emotional support, and comfort.

You can donate by dropping a check off at the Daniel Island POA Office, 130 River Landing Drive, Suite 1-C. Checks should be made out to the Daniel Island Community Foundation and note Tornado Relief. You may also donate online through our 3rd party donation platform Donate2It HERE.

The Daniel Island Community Foundation is a 501 c 3 organization that was created to promote social welfare, lessen the burdens of government, and provide affordable residential housing and facilities for persons of limited financial means. Partnering with the Daniel Island Community Fund, the Daniel Island Community Foundation hopes to grow as a resource for nonprofit initiatives that Daniel Island residents are interested in promoting or funding.

Daniel Island residents are generous and caring. Thank you for your support of this community initiative.
