For the 11th year, the Exchange Club of Daniel Island will transform River Landing Drive into a breathtaking display of patriotism and remembrance with its annual Field of Honor®, featuring 1,000 American flags standing in tribute to those who have made a difference in our lives and communities. The event has grown into one of Daniel Island’s most meaningful traditions, honoring veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, teachers, cancer survivors, family members, and hometown heroes.
Each dedicated flag represents a personal story of service, sacrifice, courage, or compassion. Every flag includes a tag bearing the name of the honoree, creating a lasting and visible tribute within the display. Donors may choose to leave their flag for future events or retrieve a new, properly folded flag accompanied by their hero’s banner following the event.
In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, this year’s Field of Honor® will also feature the America 250 Display, showcasing all 26 official flags that have flown throughout our nation’s history. The exhibit includes historical information about each flag and a beautifully rendered copy of the Declaration of Independence, offering visitors a deeper connection to America’s founding ideals.
Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring family and friends to experience this inspiring tribute. Whether honoring a veteran, a beloved teacher, a cancer survivor, or someone who has made a lasting impact on your life, dedicating a flag is a meaningful way to recognize their legacy.
