Not only are trees beautiful to look at, but they also provide many environmental benefits. Some trees are even protected. Please remember that before you remove a tree from your yard, the ARB will need to approve the removal, and in some cases, a permit from the City of Charleston is required.
If you have a tree on your property that you want to remove, please complete the ARB Modification Form and include the species and caliper size of the tree, the reason you want to remove the tree, an arborist report, and a photo of the tree. If the tree is 24″ caliper or larger, it is considered Grand and protected, and will also require a permit from the City of Charleston.
