The Charleston Police Department (CPD) announces the launch of its community survey, a collaborative effort with the Charleston Citizen Police Advisory Council (CPAC). Created to actively involve residents, business owners, neighborhoods, and communities in Charleston, CPAC aims to enhance policing efforts and foster a stronger connection between citizens and the police department.
The community survey is designed to foster and encourage active community engagement. Through open dialogue and valuable insights from community members, both the CPD and CPAC are committed to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting public safety. As a crucial tool, the survey will help shape the future of community policing in Charleston.
The survey, available in both English and Spanish, will be accessible to all community members for participation and will remain open for one month, starting on July 31, 2023. It will cover various aspects related to community perceptions, needs, and expectations from the police department.
Citizens are encouraged to take part in this initiative to make their voices heard and actively contribute to the betterment of community-policing practices in Charleston.
