What an exciting week! The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Daniel Island Community Association (DICA) pickleball courts at Edgefield Park is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 2nd at 1:30 PM.
Pickleball, known for its accessibility and social nature, has seen a surge in popularity, appealing to players of all ages. After receiving numerous requests from residents, the DICA Board got to work planning and preparing for construction.
The new amenity features two regulation-sized pickleball courts at the Edgefield Park facility, adjacent to the Edgefield Park pool and the Crow’s Nest building, which will be for DICA residents to utilize.
Similar to the 3 community pools, the pickleball courts are fob-accessed. The current court hours are set from 7 AM to 7 PM, but this is subject to change. DICA residents will use their existing pool fobs to open the gate to the courts.
Court use is first come first serve, and if others are waiting, play is limited to 1 hour per group. The other court rules can be found HERE as well as posted at the entrance to the courts.
The courts are owned by the Daniel Island Community Association (DICA) and are reserved for use by DICA members only. They are overseen and maintained by the Daniel Island Property Owners’ Association (POA). Questions can be directed to the POA office at 843.971.9200 or info@dicommunity.org.
