In recognition of Black History Month, join the Daniel Island Historical Society on Tuesday, February 21st from 7-8 pm, at the Church of the Holy Cross on Daniel Island, for a discussion about the powerful book “Ukweli: Searching for Healing Truth,” hailed as one of the most important literary compilations on race in decades.
Guest speakers for the program will be local author/journalist Herb Frazier, who co-edited the book, and one of the book’s contributors, Steve Bailey, who spent 30 years as a journalist at The Boston Globe and is now a regular contributor to The Post and Courier’s op-ed page. The church is located at 299 Seven Farms Drive on Daniel Island. Please note we will be in the main church space, NOT the Parish Hall where we typically meet.
Reminder: the DIHS monthly programs are free and open to all. That said, please consider becoming a dues-paying member and help support the wide range of projects and programs we do in the Daniel Island and Cainhoy communities. For membership info and online sign-up HERE.
