First meeting of a grassroots group (unofficially called Public Transportation on Daniel Island) to brainstorm and gauge interest in having public transportation between Daniel Island and downtown Charleston (and other local areas).

Elected officials are leaning toward water transportation only — does that serve everyone’s needs? Would a bus service be preferable? What do local businesses think? Why don’t seniors on Daniel Island enjoy the same Uber vouchers that most of the Charleston area does?

These and other related questions are fair game at this meeting. The meeting is scheduled to end at 6:00 pm to allow people to attend the DINA meeting at 6:30 the same evening.
