The Daniel Island POA staff has been busy planning several annual favorites and a few new special events that the Daniel Island Community Fund will be hosting in the coming months. Fall is such a wonderful time in Charleston to enjoy the outdoor weather and our fabulous parks, amenities, and common areas. We know that so many of you, look forward to gathering as a community to enjoy music, food, kids’ activities, and each other’s company – the stuff that makes up the heartbeat of our community.
All of these events require approval/permitting from the City of Charleston Special Events Department, and we are doing our part to gain those approvals to move forward to safely host events. Once the approval has been granted by the City, we will publish the dates of the events.
Since we are still in the recovery phase of the pandemic, we encourage attendees to keep in mind the basic safety precautions that we have all been working so hard on maintaining when interacting with one another. If there is a spike in COVID numbers, and the City or State reactivates stronger measures or emergency ordinances limiting events again, we will follow those guidelines.
We’re hopeful that the Fall of 2021 will be everything that we hope for, and we look forward to seeing you at the following events. These events along with other upcoming 3rd party partner events, such as the 911 Heroes Run and the Buddy Walk enhance the social and cultural lifestyle on Daniel Island. - Summer Fun Regatta – July 31st – Waterfront Park
- Food Truck Fridays – Every Friday through September 3rd – Crow’s Nest
- Tuesday Afternoon Guitar Series – August through October – Waterfront Park
- Fall Red Balloon Yard Sale – Saturday, October 9th – Homes Throughout the Island
- Family Concert in the Park – Saturday, October 16th – Smythe Park
- Pumpkin Walk -Saturday, October 30th – Smythe Park
- Holiday Tree Lighting – December – Date and Time TBD – Guggenheim Terrace
- Chanukah Menorah Lighting & Celebration – December 4th – Location and Time TBD
*Please note that property owner events are paid for by the Daniel Island Community Fund and not through property owner assessments (annual homeowner dues).
