Swim Charleston 8 and Under Championship Meet

Congratulations to all swimmers who participated in the 8 and under Championship Meet!

According to Cathy Sheafor, Swim Charleston Head Coach, the Swim Charleston Swim Team sent 32 swimmers to the championship meet where there were a total of 303 swimmers from 20 teams!

“Swim Charleston’s swimmers at the 8/under meet were truly SUPERSTARS!”

The following swimmers had the biggest time drops:

  • Amelia (33 seconds in the 100 free and 1 min 9 seconds in the 200 free)
  • Jason (23 seconds in the 200 IM)
  • William (31 seconds in the 200 free)
  • Mason (20 seconds in teh 200 free)

The following swimmers achieved 9-10 B times :

  • Jack (50 fly)
  • Jason (50 br, 100 IM)
  • Amelia (200 IM, 200 fr, 50 br)

The following swimmers achieved Top 3 finishes and made the “virtual podium”. First place finishes are highlighted in red:

  • Jason ( 200 IM, 50 fly,  100 free, 200 free,  100 IM and 50 br )
  • Willa (200 IM, 25 fr, 100 fr, 50 br)
  • Sully (200 fr)
  • Jack (50 fly)
  • Stella (25 fr, 100 fr, 200 fr)
  • Mason (200 fr, 25 bk, 25 fly)
  • 6/u girls Free Relay (CharlotteL, Mary Cait, Stella, KatieO)
  • 6/u boys Free Relay (Mick, NolanC, Benji, Sully)

Eighteen of their 32 swimmers finished 4th-10th place in one or more events:

  • Jack (200 IM, 200 fr, 25 bk, 25 fly)
  • Callie Ann (25 fr, 50 bk, 100 fr, 200 fr, 50 fr)
  • Maggie (25 b, 100 fr, 200 fr, 50 br)
  • Sully (25 fr, 50 bk, 100 fr)
  • Benji (50 bk, 100 fr, 50 fr, 25 bk)
  • William (25 br, 200 fr)
  • Amelia (200 IM, 25 br, 200 fr, 50 br, 100 IM)
  • Conrad (25 br, 200 fr)
  • Katie (50 fr)
  • Ethan (25 br, 100 fr, 200 fr)
  • Cyprian (50 fly, 200 fr)
  • Saylor (25 fr)
