On The Table

July 30, 2018

If you have ever wanted to be heard, now is your chance. On Thursday, October 4th, 2018, On The Table comes to Daniel Island. Thousands of people will be sitting down to discuss the issues facing the Lowcountry on that day. From Edisto to Moncks Corner, Summerville to Awendaw, everyone has something to say. These discussions are open, hosted by community-minded folks, and have no agenda or pre-determined endpoint. The idea is just to listen and, as one participant from West Ashley put it, “talk about things we do not normally talk about with people we do not normally talk to.”

If you would like to invite a few friends over, or ask them out for a cup of coffee, sign up to be a host at www.lowcountryonthetable.org/hosting

Your voice matters.

What is On the Table and why should I participate?

On the Table is an exciting, region-wide initiative to explore the ways in which we have the power to collaborate in order to make our communities stronger, safer, and more dynamic.

On the Table allows community members to come together, collaborate more, and to become more involved and more committed to our community. While we know that there’s no “quick fix” to the issues facing the Lowcountry, progress will result from residents and organizations listening to each other and working together to create changes that will add up to help unite the place we call home.

What you do matters – and when we come together as a community to learn from and with each other, we have the power affect both neighborhoods and lives. That’s what On the Table is all about.

What is the goal of On the Table?

Our goal is to bring together the residents of the Lowcountry to discuss how we can work together to build and sustain our communities. We seek to create a movement that inspires each of us to do more – to contribute our time, talent, and ideas. By agreeing to participate, you’ve already taken an important step to be part of this movement.
