CHARLESTON, S.C. – APRIL 18, 2024 – Despite encountering significant environmental challenges over the last month, the new Daniel Island Beresford Bridge is scheduled to open on June 7th, 2024.
Crews addressed unforeseen embankment stabilization requirements on both sides of the bridge in March.
Employing innovative solutions such as geotextile grid reinforcement, Cape Romain Contractors and the City of Charleston are ensuring not only the structural integrity of the bridge but also the preservation of our natural surroundings.
The new bridge will feature two travel lanes complemented by a multi-use path, fostering connectivity, and lessening traffic for commuters. Cape Romain Contractors have demonstrated a commitment to delivering a safe and resilient infrastructure project for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
The City of Charleston extends sincere gratitude to the residents, businesses, and stakeholders for their patience and support.
