Governor McMaster Coronavirus April 3rd Update

In an April 3rd press conference, Governor McMaster announced two new Executive Orders 2020-18, which expands the list of non-essential businesses, and 2020-19 which suspends short term rentals.

The list of added non-essential businesses now includes:

  • Furniture and home-furnishings stores
  • Clothing, shoe, and clothing-accessory stores
  • Jewelry, luggage, and leather goods stores
  • Department stores, with the exception of hardware and home-improvement stores
  • Sporting goods stores
  • Book, craft, and music stores
  • Flea markets
  • Florists and flower stores

These stores will be required to close by 5:00 PM on Monday, April 6th.

In addition to the expansion of the list of non-essential businesses, Governor McMaster has suspended all short term rentals to people coming from from CDC-identified coronavirus hotspots. This suspension is effective immediately and includes hotels, motels, rental houses, and, AirBnbs.

Exceptions will be made for military personnel, first responders, medical personnel, and commercial transportation workers.
