East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is pleased to announce an opportunity for the community to double the impact of their charitable giving this month. Intended to inspire increased support from the public, a local funder has committed to match the generosity of donations made to the Mount Pleasant based nonprofit before June 30.
As ECCO approaches the end of its 2016-17 fiscal year, staff and Board members want to achieve a balanced budget. Over the last twelve months, the organization has enhanced several programs by adding critical services for low-income families, including:
- Relaunched the Individual Development Account (IDA) program, a nationally implemented initiative that promotes asset growth for low-income households
- Introduced our monthly Fresh and Free Client Choice Farmers Market to provide healthy food options for ECCO clients on a regular basis
- Expanded the Partners in Health Care clinic hours to offer increased medical services for the uninsured
This fundraising initiative has been made possible by the Daniel Island Community Fund, a dedicated ECCO supporter for the last ten years. All additional, new, and increased gifts made to ECCO before June 30 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.
