December 10, 2024

The City of Charleston Environmental Services Department is responsible for collecting all garbage and yard debris on Daniel Island. Collection on Daniel Island takes place either Monday or Tuesday depending on where you live on the island.

  • Residents living south of 526 will be serviced on Mondays (red on map).
  • Residents living north of 526 will be serviced on Tuesdays (blue on map).

Trash Tracker App

In the fall of 2023, the City of Charleston Environmental Services Division launched ‘CHS TrashTracker,’ a new mobile app that delivers garbage, trash, and street sweeping service reminders to city residents via email, text message, and phone call.

The app allows users located within city limits to enter their street address and access their area’s garbage and trash collection schedules, which can then be printed or synced with Apple, Google, or Microsoft calendars.

In addition to regular service reminders, ‘CHS TrashTracker’ provides schedule change alerts and helpful information about other city services. The app also allows users to quickly and easily submit work order requests to various city departments.

‘CHS TrashTracker’ is now available for download on Apple or Android smartphones.

Missed Pick Up

Should the City of Charleston miss picking up your trash or yard debris, they ask that you please report the miss to them through their Citizens Services Desk. There are 2 ways to report this:

  1. Submit a Request Online – click HERE to report your concern or question online
  2. Or By Phone: (843) 724-7311
