August 4th: Important Message Regarding Garbage and Yard Debris Collection

August 04, 2020

The following is a message from Matt Alltop with the City of Charleston Environmental Services Department regarding today’s, Tuesday, August 4th, pickup by Republic Services.

Please be advised that Republic Services has encountered a truck breakdown today, Tuesday, August 4th. All of the yard debris that is normally picked up in the alleys or lanes and possibly some yard debris in front of homes, will not be picked up today, Tuesday, August 4th.

Republic has advised the City that they will have a truck coming to Daniel Island tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5th to collect this route and the yard debris. Republic will also have an additional truck tomorrow to ensure pickup of anything that is missed on the other routes today such as garbage in the cans or other yard debris. As of this morning all other garbage can routes are running on time. Please leave your garbage cans and yard debris at the curb if pickup did not occur at your home today so that they can remove it tomorrow – thank you!

For questions regarding this, please contact Matt Alltop.
