Sweetwater Staffing Update

August 11, 2026

Beginning Saturday, August 15, Gate Attendants will be staffed at all three DICA pools, Pierce, Scott, and Edgefield, from 8 AM–8 PM on weekends only.

The weekend staffing schedule will continue through Sunday, September 27. After September 27, the pools will no longer be staffed until spring 2027.

Pool Staff & Responsibilities

All pool staff members are employees of Sweetwater Pools, DICA’s pool contractor. While Gate Attendants are not direct employees of DICA, residents are encouraged to contact the POA at (843) 971-9200 if they experience any issues or concerns involving pool staff.

For employment opportunities with Sweetwater Pools, please use the QR codes below.

Gate Attendants are responsible for:

  • Greeting residents and guests
  • Keeping a watchful eye on the pool area
  • Performing periodic cleaning of the pool and bathrooms
  • Monitoring chemical levels and water quality
  • Addressing pool rule violations and notifying POA staff when an immediate response is needed

Please note: Gate Attendants are not lifeguards and cannot perform lifesaving rescues. They are also not responsible for supervising or babysitting children. Parents and guardians are ultimately responsible for the safety and supervision of their children while using the pools.

Pool Rules & Enforcement

Gate Attendants have the authority to remind residents and guests when pool rules are not being followed. Residents are also encouraged to notify the Gate Attendant on duty if they observe a rule violation or other concerning behavior.

If pool rules are not followed consistently, pool privileges may be suspended.

We take the safety and security of our community amenities very seriously. If you see dangerous or unsafe behavior at any of our Daniel Island amenities, please contact the POA and let us know. The pools are also checked multiple times each day by POA staff and our pool contractor.

Emergency Phones

Emergency phones are available at all three DICA pools for use in the event of a safety emergency. The phones are located in the breezeway/entrance area of each pool.

If an emergency occurs and you need EMS or Police, simply pick up the emergency phone and press the button. You will be automatically connected with emergency personnel. The address of each pool is posted above the phone for easy reference.

We hope all property owners and residents have a safe, enjoyable, and responsible pool season. Thank you for doing your part to help keep our community pools safe and enjoyable for everyone!
