DI Historical Society Program

July 31, 2024

As part of their deepening relationship with the Berkeley 250 organization, the Daniel Island Historical Society (DIHS) is pleased to be sponsoring a presentation by author Bill Segars on the book he co-authored with Jim Neal entitled CHURCHES IN SOUTH CAROLINA BURNED DURING THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION: A PICTORIAL GUIDE. For an advance opportunity to check out the book (and even order a copy) CLICK HERE

If you think about it, burning churches to punish what they considered traitors made a lot of sense for the British. Churches were usually prominent centers of the community and thus logical targets.

This sure will be a fascinating presentation. Please note this event is NOT at the usual venue, or typical day, and time.

DIHS will meet at the Daniel Pointe Retirement Community, 514 Robert Daniel Drive on the Park Side of the island from 5 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
