This park is characterized by its marsh-oriented setting. Winding paths through a natural Lowcountry setting make Barfield Park a favorite place to take a quiet walk or run. A picnic gazebo is located at the edge of the park and makes a great place for a small-to-medium-sized gathering of friends and neighbors.

The extensive 25+ mile trail system winds through maritime forest, along the marsh and the water’s edge, and through neighborhoods and the island’s downtown, offering scenic views and a safe and convenient environment for runners, walkers, and cyclists.
