While it was a challenging spring and summer due to COVID-19, the POA worked very hard to try and accommodate as many residents as we could at our pools and maintain a safe environment. This fall, we have similar challenges, but have worked on a new schedule to be able to expand the blocks of time for residents to enjoy the three pools while adding time for our hometown swim teams, Bishop England and Swim Charleston. Both Bishop England and Swim Charleston contract to use our pools annually and at least 75% of their swimmers are Daniel Island residents.
Beginning on Tuesday, September 8th, the Bishop England Swim Team will return to the Pierce Park Pool and the Swim Charleston Swim Team will return to the Scott Park Pool. We have been in close communication with the coaches of both swim teams to devise a practice schedule that best accommodates both swim team needs as well as resident use of the pools.
The current occupancy number of 75 swimmers at a time will remain in place for all swim times. Our gate attendants will have a counter in hand to ensure compliance with occupancy numbers and they will be checking to make sure residents are following the mask ordinance. During practice times, swim teams will have exclusive use of their scheduled pool.

Should you arrive at the pool and discover that the pool is currently at the 75 person capacity or there is a swim practice taking place, please try one of our other pools that may not be at capacity/programmed at that time.

Please keep in mind that we are still in Phase 1 reopening. Only residents will be allowed to enter the pools during Phase 1. At this time, no guests and no programming, other than the two contracted swim teams, will be allowed.
