There has been an uptick in young residents jumping from the Captain’s Island bridge into the creek below it as well as off the new Waterfront Park Docks.
While these may seem like fun ideas at the time, these activities are incredibly dangerous. We would like for all residents to please be responsible and educate their children about the hazards of this behavior.
Bridge jumping as well as dock jumping can cause serious injury to those partaking in the activity and may cause death. Passing boats, strong currents, and tide fluctuations are some of the major risks to the jumper. Jumping off the docks and bridge is prohibited.
