In an effort to help collect donations for The Pitch in Haiti, the Charleston Battery is hosting a pre-match clinic prior to the ACC Men’s Soccer Championship on Sunday, November 13th. Battery players will run an all-ages clinic from 12:15-1:00 pm on the practice field at MUSC Health Stadium before to the ACC match at 2:00 pm. Admission is free with a donation (monetary or soccer gear) to The Pitch. B Sports Entertainment will have donation bins at all upcoming events at MUSC Health Stadium including the Films on the Field – Holiday Series and the ACC Women’s and Men’s Soccer Championships. The Pitch is a soccer-based youth outreach program in Tabarre, Haiti. The organization’s goal is to teach self-discipline, teamwork and personal health through soccer training. The Pitch works to provide a safe place for children in Haiti to play the world’s game as they grow. The Pitch operates on a voluntary basis and administrative expenses are minimal. The donated gear provides the kids with the equipment they need to play soccer. Monetary donations go towards clothing, hygiene packs and shipping gear to Haiti. By donating, you are giving kids an opportunity to have fun, develop as future community leaders and learn valuable lessons through soccer.
