While we remain mindful of the weather and will continue to monitor conditions closely\, the current forecast allows us to move forward with an exciting evening of live music and local food vendors. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Our Country\, Freedom\, and Nation’s Birthday by making Daniel Island one of America’s “Most Patriotic Towns.” Paint the Town Red\, White\, and Blue\, and join us for Daniel Island’s Annual Independence Day festivities on Wednesday\, July 3rd at Smythe Park with neighbors\, friends\, and family. \nWe like to start with a special thank you to our Independence Day Sponsors! \n\nDaniel Island Real Estate\nMead Land Services\, LLC\nHome Telecom\nDaniel Island Ferry\nRuppert Nurseries\n\n  \nDress up your homes\, businesses\, bikes\, and golf carts with patriotic colors\, and participate in our island tradition of honoring this wonderful holiday. \nPatriotic Parade:\n\n3:15 pm Golf Cart Parade line-up begins at Bishop England High School.\n4:00 pm Sharp – The parade proceeds to Daniel Island Drive and continues to the Daniel Island School parking lot at DI Drive and Purcell Street\n\nThe parade starts at the Bishop England High School parking lot (by sports fields) and finishes at Daniel Island Drive & Purcell Street. Everyone is invited to participate in the parade. Participants need to arrive for the line-up between 3:15 pm – 3:45 pm. The parade will start at 4:00 pm sharp. \nParade Traffic Alert: There will be intermittent street closures on July 3rd for the Daniel Island Annual Patriotic Parade from 3:45–4:45 pm (approximate time). The City of Charleston Police Department will coordinate and execute the street closure process. This is a rolling closure\, meaning as soon as the parade passes\, the police will reopen the streets. Please see the parade route below: Leave from the Bishop England High School Parking Lot and end at the Daniel Island Drive & Purcell Lane intersection. \nParade Route: \n\nStarts at Bishop England parking area by the sports field off Seven Farms Drive (this is across the street from Etiwan Park)\nParade turns right on Seven Farms toward the round about at Daniel Island Drive\nParade turn right on Daniel Island Drive and proceeds down to the intersection at Smythe Park at Purcell Street\nParade turns right at the intersection of DI Drive and Purcell Street into DI School parking lot for parking\n\n \n  \nImmediately following the parade\, there will be three back-to-back lakeside concerts at Smythe Park. We will be using the Daniel Island School parking lots as well as street parking for all event parking.
