SUMMARY:2026 Tricia Scobey Legacy Race
DESCRIPTION:From Survival to Legacy: How One Point Hope Resident is Turning Tragedy into Awareness\n\nOn November 8\, 2020\, Tricia Scobey’s life changed forever. Just 24 hours prior\, she was in the absolute best shape of her life\, having easily completed an eight-mile run. There were no warning signs\, no subtle symptoms\, and no red flags—which is exactly what makes brain aneurysms so terrifyingly quiet.\n\nTricia survived a brain aneurysm rupture that day\, making her one of the rare lucky ones. The harsh reality is that the survival rate for a rupture is less than 50%\, and the odds of walking away with minimal deficits are lower still. Roughly 1 in 50 people are currently living with an unruptured brain aneurysm\, completely unaware of the ticking time bomb inside them until it’s too late.\n\nRefusing to let her survival be in vain\, Tricia vowed to use her second chance to make a lasting\, lifesaving impact. In 2022\, she partnered with The Bee Foundation for Brain Aneurysm Prevention to launch a dedicated race series. What started as a single event has exploded into a powerful national movement\, with 10 races now taking place across the United States.\n\nNow\, Tricia is bringing that powerful mission straight to your backyard. Having recently moved to the community\, she will be leading the 2026 Tricia Scobey Legacy Race right in Point Hope.\n\nIf you are picturing intense\, hyper-competitive athletes sprinting past a ticking clock\, think again. This event is explicitly designed for everyone. It is less of a rigid race and more of a community walk\, run\, or stroll. Participants can choose between a casual 1-mile loop or a 5k route. It is completely untimed\, highly relaxed\, and open to the entire family—including your furry\, four-legged friends.\n\nMore than anything\, the Tricia Scobey Legacy Race is an invitation to connect. It is a unique opportunity to learn about brain aneurysm prevention\, enjoy the benefits of moving outdoors\, and gather together with your neighbors for a vital cause. Come out\, support a local hero\, and help shine a light on a critical health issue.
