SUMMARY:2026 Spring Red Balloon Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Daniel Island Annual Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale will be held on Saturday\, March 21st\, from 7 AM to 1 PM at homes throughout Daniel Island. The sale provides an opportunity for shoppers to wander the neighborhoods of Daniel Island in search of unique finds and special deals. Put out a red balloon at your home to let everyone know you are participating in this island-wide event. \nThe Red Balloon Yard Sale is a semi-annual yard sale held twice a year. While the Daniel Island CC&Rs prohibit these types of sales conducted from a residence/unit at other times during the year\, the Covenants do allow for these yard sales to take place twice a year\, once in the Fall and again in the Spring. Please remember that setup for your yard sale must take place in either the front or rear of your property\, and no blocking of sidewalks is allowed. Set up or selling is not allowed in any POA common areas\, parks\, or amenities\, or those belonging to the City of Charleston. This is prohibited for liability and insurance reasons.  \nPlease note that this is a rain-or-shine event. There is no rescheduled date for inclement weather. \nAdd Your Address To The Map!\nIf you would like your address to be added to our Daniel Island 2026 Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale Map\, please email info@dicommunity.org. Please include in the subject line of the email “2026 Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale Map\,” and then in the body of the email\, please provide your Daniel Island address as well as a good contact phone number in case we need to get back to you for any reason. We will then include the address you give to us on the map of participating homes. This is a “complimentary” service being offered to anyone who wishes to list their address on the yard sale map. This is only for homes located on Daniel Island. Goodwill may not be able to accommodate everyone due to truck space and timing constraints\, and depending on the number of donations\, but will try to accommodate to the best of their ability. SUMMARY:Give Thanks\, Give Security: Annual Thanksgiving Drive
DESCRIPTION:As the leaves turn and the season of gratitude begins\, the Daniel Island Community Foundation is kicking it off with a Thanksgiving Drive\, a heartfelt effort to give thanks by giving back. From Tuesday\, November 4th\, through Tuesday\, November 25th\, we invite you to help us collect nonperishable food and hygiene products for local nonprofit organizations that support families in need. \nWe’ve set an ambitious goal for 2025 to collect over 500 lbs. of donations for our local partners\, and we’re just 176 lbs. away from reaching it! With your generosity\, we can finish the year strong and provide warmth\, nourishment\, and dignity to those who need it most. \nFood insecurity and limited access to essential hygiene products remain growing challenges across South Carolina. According to Feeding America\, 678\,710 South Carolinians\, including 197\,310 children\, are facing hunger in 2024. These numbers remind us that no family should have to choose between putting food on the table and buying necessities. \nBy coming together this Thanksgiving season\, we can help bridge that gap. \nWe’re collecting: \n\nNonperishable food items\nToiletries & hygiene products\nBaby supplies\nCleaning supplies\n\nDonation Drop-Off Location: \nDaniel Island POA Office130 River Landing Drive\, Suite 1CHours: Monday–Thursday\, 9 AM – 4 PMDates: November 4 – November 25 \nAll donations will directly benefit three incredible local organizations: \n\n\nLowcountry Food Bank \n\n\nEast Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) \n\n\nLowcountry Blessing Boxes \n\n\nThese nonprofits work year-round to fight hunger and restore hope throughout our community.
