Halloween Bash and Pumpkin Walk

October 03, 2022

The Daniel Island School PTA and the POA invite you to the Halloween Bash and Pumpkin Walk on Saturday, October 29th from 5:00-8:30 PM at Smythe Park.

For the first time ever, the Halloween Bash and Pumpkin Walk are combined into a super event! Join your neighbors for a spooktacular Saturday! The Halloween Bash will begin at 5:00 PM on Smythe Lawn. The bash will end at dusk and lead directly into the pumpkin walk. Starting at the corner of Smythe Street and Daniel Island Drive, take a spooky stroll while admiring painted and carved pumpkins provided by the community. There are expected to be over 400 pumpkins this year!

Please deliver your carved pumpkin at the corner of Daniel Island Drive and Purcell on Saturday, October 29th from 12:00-3:00 PM. Volunteers will guide you to place your pumpkin on the path around the lake. Be sure to include a battery-operated tea light inside your pumpkin.

Return to Smythe Lawn (on the corner of Daniel Island Drive and Smythe Street) at 5:00 PM for the Halloween Bash! There will be Halloween-themed games, face painting, a live DJ, a costume contest, and food for purchase from Bits-n-Bytes, Taste of Berlin, Wally’s Gyros, Mr. Popper’s Popcorn, and Life Raft Treats. Be sure to wear your costume! The Bash will end at 7:00 PM.

**Please note that there will not be carving materials at the Halloween Bash this year**

The Pumpkin Walk will begin at dusk. Volunteers will turn on the tea light candles inside the pumpkins and luminaries to light the path from Smythe Lawn, around Smythe Lake, and returning to the Smythe Lawn. Check out pumpkins from the Daniel Island School, local businesses, and the community. The Pumpkin Walk team is hoping for a record-breaking number of pumpkins this year, but that can’t be done without your help! All residents and business owners are asked to carve a pumpkin for the walk! The Pumpkin Walk will end at 8:30 PM. Please take your pumpkin home Saturday night after the event has concluded or return Sunday morning by 9:00 AM to retrieve your pumpkin. Any pumpkins remaining in the park after 9:00 AM on Sunday will be recycled.
