The Daniel Island Annual Fall Red Balloon Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 7 AM to 1 PM at homes throughout Daniel Island. The sale provides an opportunity for shoppers to wander the neighborhoods of Daniel Island in search of unique finds and special deals. Put out a red balloon at your home to let everyone know you are participating in this island-wide event. The Red Balloon Yard Sale is a semi-annual yard sale held twice a year.
While the Daniel Island CC&Rs prohibit these types of sales conducted from a residence/unit at other times during the year, the Covenants do allow for these yard sales to take place twice a year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring. Please remember that set up for your yard sale must take place in either the front or rear of your property. Set up or selling is not allowed in any DIPOA common areas, parks, or amenities or those belonging to the City of Charleston.
Add Your Address To The Map!
If you would like for your address to be added to our Daniel Island 2022 Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale Map, please email info@dicommunity.org. Please include in the subject line of the email “2022 Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale Map” and then in the body of the email please provide your Daniel Island street address as well as a good contact phone number in case we need to get back to you for any reason. We will then include that address you give to us on the map of participating homes. This is a “complimentary” service being offered to anyone who wishes to list their address on the yard sale map. This is only for homes located on Daniel Island. The deadline to submit your email address to be added to the Red Balloon Sale Map is 4 PM on Friday, September 16th.
*Promotion of this map will be featured in our POA newsletter and in the Post and Courier as well as The Daniel Island News the week of the yard sale.
Click HERE for the digital map listing with some but not all of the participating homes.
For those of you who are participating in the yard sale and would like to donate your unsold items to Palmetto Goodwill, they will have one truck located at the Blackbaud parking lot on Fairchild Street & River Landing Drive to collect donated items from 11 AM to 2 PM (or until their truck fills up). Goodwill may not be able to accommodate everyone due to truck space and timing constraints and depending on the number of donations but will try to accommodate to the best of their ability. Donation collection is on a first-come, first-serve, drop-off basis. Click HERE for acceptable donation items.
In the event you have two (2) pieces of larger furniture items or more, it is always recommended to set up a home pickup with Goodwill directly by requesting a pickup online. Click HERE or you can contact the Donated Goods Coordinator Bobbi Dragone at 843-300-8975 or bdragone@palmettogoodwill.
