10th Annual Kids Fishing Tournament
June 19 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am$5 – $10
We are excited to announce that at this time protocols/regulations from the CDC and City of Charleston (masks and social distancing) will allow the KIDS tourney to happen as scheduled. In the event that there is an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 warranting a change in those protocols, and thereby causing a need to cancel the KIDS tournament, the Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club (DIIFC), and the DIPOA would announce such, via respective websites, social media pages, newsletters, and the DI News. The safety and well being of the DI community remains our priority.
The 10th Annual Daniel Island Kids Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 19, Father’s Day Weekend, at Smythe Park Lake. Children ages 4 to 15 of families who reside or work on Daniel Island are eligible to enter as anglers in the tournament. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Eligible species are largemouth bass, panfish, and mullet, all catch and release. Awards will be given for the first, second, and third for longest fish of these species caught, plus an award for the longest “Mystery Fish” caught and for any tagged large-mouth bass. The penultimate award is the Grand Champion Award for the longest fish of the three eligible species. The Grand Champion will win a half day fishing trip for two people with Capt. Greg Peralta. No fishing license is required.
